Solus Decor had the opportunity to collaborate with award winning garden designer Leon Davis at this year’s RHS Tatton Park Flower show this month. Leon Davis won gold and best in show for his garden.
The garden design for RHS Tatton Park entitled From Hop to Glass was sponsored by JW Lees brewery in celebration of the 190th anniversary of the brewery . The design draws inspiration from the brewing industry, interpreting materials, features and processes in a contemporary style and composition.
The design is in part framed by glass screens, providing a foil for grasses, which are mixed with deep red and amber perennials to represent the inviting flow and texture of a freshly-poured pint.
Within the planting is a circular shallow stream, which encloses relaxing spaces to sit and relax combined with the familiar textures and elements that are synonymous with a traditional pub. The curved bench gives the feel of the serving bar and the warm and inviting atmosphere is provided by the Solus Decor fire pit and the brass details around the garden.
Leon Davis has incorporated the Hemi fire bowl in the garden design. The Hemi fire bowl is available in three sizes, three fuel options and ten colour options. The Hemi fire pit converts into a table with a hardwood table or metal table top depending to suit your style.

The majority of visitors to our show room know that they absolutely want a modern, gas fire pit. However we do meet clients on occasion that are unsure about how best to arrange their outdoor seating around one.
So Solus have compiled a selection of the simplest ways in which fire pits can be arranged for your outdoor space. Or our team of sales associates would be happy to plan with you by phone or in person if these layouts don’t work for you.
It is with great pleasure that Solus Decor announces that we will be donating 2 fire pits; 1 Hemi firebowl and 1 Elevated Halo fire pit to the 27th Annual Crystal Ball Charity Auction which is Reach for the Rainbow‘s signature fundraising event. This event is to take place on November 16, 2013 in Toronto. For those of you who don’t know:
“[It] is considered one of the top black tie revenue generating galas in the country. This one-of-a-kind event now in its 26th year draws the who’s who of Corporate Canada including the elite, the affluent and the philanthropic.”
It’s important for us to give back to the community as often as we can to help those less fortunate than us. This past September, we donated a Hemi firebowl to the IDSwest Laneway House Auction to the benefit of the Alzheimer’s Society of BC. At this event, our 2 fire pits will be auctioned off to help raise money for Reach for the Rainbow which serves to help the lives of the children and young adults with complex developmental and physical disabilities, as well as their families. Although we can’t make it, we are thrilled that we are being represented by none other than Jennifer Gannon of Bonavista Pool & Spas, one of our best dealers in Toronto. We hope that the money raised by our two fire pits will help make even a modest difference.
If you are in the Toronto area or would like to attend the 27th Annual Crystal Ball Charity Auction, download the ticket order form or contact them for more info.
Have your heard the exciting news? Solus Decor has been chosen to participate in the build of the H&L Laneway Feature Home for auction at the 2013 IDSwest show September 19-22 2013. We are thrilled that our 36” Hemi Firebowl will contribute to the warmth and beauty of its outdoor space.
This laneway home, built by Alair Homes and designed by renowned designer Gaile Guevara of Modern604, will be auctioned off to the benefit of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. at 5:15pm on Saturday, September 21, 2013, World Alzheimer’s Day. The concept is to build a 516ft laneway home that is sophisticated and contemporary (all things we encompass) and wow contemporary design enthusiasts while being efficient on small space.
In case you didn’t know, laneway homes are a great way to reduce our carbon footprint and increase affordable rental or housing options by building small, yet efficient homes along alleys where a garage would traditionally go.
Make sure to stop by and see our 36” Hemi Firebowl on display at this incredible H&L Laneway Home.
